Not really, but I have been called many things!
I had a comment left by The Road Doctor (http://livinthedream-fire.blogspot.com/). After enjoying Burnin’ it Down last night on TheBravestOnline.com, he asked when I was going to start my own radio show or podcast. It might have been in jest, that isn’t the point. The point is that I have thought about doing a podcast for a while now. Only recently have I come across the radio show Burnin it Down.
I was actually on the cusp of doing a podcast recently. I had even sent out a couple of emails to see if any other bloggers were interested in doing one together. They didn’t and I didn’t move further with the idea. However, I want to!
As for doing a radio show…it is a possibility. It probably wouldn’t be every two weeks and I don’t have a “Bart” to screen calls. I say it is a possibility because I think it is great. Burnin it down is an excellent show.
I am not worried about copying the idea…after all there isn’t just one fire blog or just one podcast right.
I do have a new column that will be showing up soon. I think it will be interesting.
So let me know what you think. Do you crave another fire radio show, want to hear me talk in a podcast, want to hear a collaborative podcast between me and a guest or other blogger, or should I just keep to the written word?
Let me know if I am leaving out an option you might be interested in as well.
Here is the link to Burnin it down…you can listen to last nights show or any of the others.

The fire radio shows, combined with the blogging network, could rehab the various roundtable discussions done in print and on stage at various expos. They can be as often as monthly covering a range of topics from various department profiles and operations to training to fire service/social networking issues. You could start with official vs. traditional LODDs. Pick two or three 'out there' who are reputably knowledgeable about the subject and can carry a conversation without a lot of “uh” and “you know”. Follow up (or preface) with blog post and reader comments. November's almost over; only one more month before the fire service tallys the fallen.
Holy Crow! If I keep getting mentioned in popular blogs like this, and I am gonna become a legend in my own mind.
No, FC, my comment was not in jest. I saw that you had mentioned it earlier, and I think you could fill a different niche in the podcast/radio program realm. I really do enjoy “Burning It Down”, but Chris is no longer an active duty Fireman, and you are. I think that is something that could be played upon. Also, you spoke clearly and articulately, which is always a plus if you want folks to listen to you. Anyway, just my .02 of the idea…
