Deputy Charles Fabian

LIMESTONE COUNTY – A Limestone County Sheriff’s Deputy who pulled a disabled man from a burning home three weeks ago was honored on Monday.

Deputy Charles Fabian was on a routine patrol on Dec. 7 when he noticed fire coming from a residence at 2764 LCR 656 in Thornton, about 50 miles east of Waco.

When he arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames and a woman, Diane Gonzalez, who arrived shortly after, said her wheelchair-bound son, 33-year-old Corey Gonzalez, was inside.
