LODD – Lt. Russ Neary Identified as Easton, CT Firefighter Who Died During Hurricane Sandy

The firefighter who died in the line of duty in Easton, Connecticut has been identified as Lt. Russ Neary. The incident occurred around 7:45pm on Monday night as Hurricane Sandy hit landfall. The incident happened on Judd Road. Lt. Neary was hit by a falling tree limb while removing debris from in front of his truck.

    Russ was a loving father and husband. He was a volunteer who in spite of the danger chose to come to the aid of others. A true hero who will be missed. Love goes out to his family.
