Fireground Video of 5 Alarm Fire at Historic Building in Williamsport, MD This Morning

Update: I have received word that the fire went to a total of 6 alarms and is under control at this time (noon).

5 alarm fire at historic Williamsport, MD Building this morning. The video was uploaded to Facebook this morning around 10am by Terry Y. 20 engine companies and 5 ladder companies from Washington County, Berkeley County (WV), Jefferson County (WV), and Morgan County (WV) fought the fire. The building used to house Wolfe’s on the Square and was currently L&J Liquors as well as apartments upstairs.

WILLIAMSPORT — A blaze in a historic building on Williamsport’s square, which is surrounded by buildings, rose to the level of a five-alarm fire Monday morning as firefighters battled flames and the cold.

Smoke and flames could still be seen coming from the rear of the building that houses L&J Liquors at 1 W. Potomac St. at 10 a.m., about three hours after the fire was called in. Read more here
