Video by: Marc Lucero. Video info: One of two fires last night in Richmond. Not all fires go smoothly and this was definitely was one that provided some challenges. Reported elderly couple inside confirmed by bystander on arrival. Difficult stretch with a house packed with furniture and stuff with rapidly building heat conditions. The rapid build up of high heat conditions forced crews out (Modern fuels). Engine 67 with Jessica Wraa Capt. Marc Lucero and Anthony Woodards FF Ben Faulkner and Donnie Rath were force out only to regroup and complete the knock down. 10 people actually occupied the building but as most often every one was already out by the time crews arrived. For me as the first due officers I didn’t set up like I normally would and that came into play going back to get gloves then a radio that worked, for me making it a very frustrating fire to try and manage and get the task done from a company officers perspective. Over all operation took some time and went well even though video is obviously condensed to not completely bore you. Good teaching fire for the rookies.
