Strength in Peers is hosting a First Responder Trauma and Resiliency Summit on both 9/17 & 9/24

About the event:
Join Strength In Peers, Sentara RMH Medical Center, and JMU’s Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services for a summit to:
•Understand how traumatic events affect people.
•Improve how we serve people who have histories of trauma.
•Strengthen community resiliency and access to treatment.
Speakers: include
•Allison Sampson-Jackson, Ph.D., Prof. Licensed Social Worker
•Capt. Willy Wines, Prof. Firefighter and Iron Firemen
•Lt. Rhett Fleitz, Prof. Firefighter and Fire Critic
Cost is $10 and all proceeds will be donated to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and Harrisonburg Disabled American Veterans.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
About Strength in Peers:
Strength In Peers is an organization of individuals who have experience overcoming substance abuse and mental health problems. We provide peer support to others who are working toward their recovery.
