This shield is quality built and appears to be ready to hold up for years to come. JP uses two 8/9 oz. pieces of leather on their fronts. Mine has recessed areas which are stamped and hand painted. I couldn't be more pleased with the design and quality of this helmet front!

I think this might be a keeper. It seems as though Streamlight has done their homework with this one and produced a very effective helmet mounted light without compromising comfort, weight, or accessibility. I highly recommend this product if you are in the market for a helmet light!

For the price and the assumed longevity of these helmet fronts, Taylor's Tins offers a very affordable alternative to leather shields. 

Once again, I give you the best firefighting calendars for 2019. I have enjoyed putting this article since 2010. For the most part, each of these calendars below represent dozens of people who volunteer their time to produce and market a calendar each year to raise money for their charity.

I used it almost immediately on my jeep and have been happy with the quality and protection it gave my jeep since. When I give the jeep a wash, I can still tell it has wax on it because the water beads up.

While this may not be the first right angle light offered to the fire service, it is certainly one of the better ones because it is lightweight and offers many more options with the tilting head, downward floodlight, strobe, etc. 

Retired FDNY Lt. James J. O’Donnell has published his first book "Sons of Valor, Parents of Faith". His 30 year career ended with his last response being 9-11.
