Welcome to the ultimate in fire/EMS blog contests. Who will end up with the bragging rights of being the best Fire and/or EMS Blog of the Year 2009?

Nominate your favorite today via twitter , email, or contact page . Just send us the blog, url, and why the blog is the best. If using twitter use hashtag #FCBLOG09.

A while back I posted about the best fire blogs, EMS blogs and web sites. You can view it here. The problem I had was narrowing it down to the best. Therefore, I am asking you all for help. After all, you don’t care what I think as much as I care what you think! Feel free to use those blogs listed as a guide for some of the best, but your favorite might not be listed.

One thing I have tried to do here at the Fire Critic is to help showcase other Fire/EMS bloggers. I have done this through the Monday Morning Shoutout, showcasing other bloggers, and linking to others content. I feel as though many fire/EMS blogs don’t get read enough because it is hard to keep up with all of them and some are hard to find. There is one thing for sure…there are some GREAT fire and EMS blogs! This contest will certainly show who the favorites are!

Nomination period:

Begins on December 30, 2009 at 1500 hours EST

Concludes on January 5, 2010 at 1459 hours EST.

Ten finalists will be picked by our judges (TBA) from the list of eligible nominees.
The finalists will be chosen based on the following criteria:

  • Caliber of posts relating to the Fire and/or EMS fields
  • Design elements in their blog
  • Professionalism towards our service(s)
  • Use of other social media to extend the network of their blog
  • Longevity as a blogger

Fire and EMS Thanksgiving Contest

Win a Fire Critic apron

The Fire Critic is having a Thanksgiving contest. The contest is simple and geared towards those of us who have to work this Thanksgiving.

All you have to do is share your favorite recipe for Thanksgiving. It could be a special turkey recipe, secret stuffing recipe, grandmas corn pudding, or grandpa’s after dinner drink. Share the recipe in hopes that it helps the crews who work this Christmas make an unforgettable meal.

Photos are more than welcome too!!! Send in photos of your crew at the table, your finished recipe, or your crew at work. I will share all the photos sent in (INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE)!!!

Anyone can enter….even Sven in Sweden and Pierre in France!!!

We will post all of the recipes and photos and then we will have a judge pick the winner!

Contest entry details: submit your favorite Thanksgiving recipe to FireCritic@FireCritic.com or in the comments section. Feel free to send in photos of the meal, recipe, your crew at work, or your crew at the dinner table.

Who can enter: Anyone can enter, you don’t have to be at work, you don’t have to be a firefighter.

When can you enter: from the time this is posted until midnight of Thursday, November 26th.

While she may not appear to have anything to do with Fire/EMS, that is the benefit of these contests. You  never know who will win and you never know how they will find out about the contest!
