Three Funny Firefighter Commercials Worth Watching

I have posted several firefighter commercials in the past. Most of them have been pretty good. Here are three more that I think are worth watching. A Margarita recipe, a Dirty Firefighter, and one that might hit home with current pension reform practices.

Fully Involved – Thoughts on Coaching, Leadership, and the Fire Service

Written by Mark VonAppen

Must read post “Stay Hungry”

The keys to success in this venture are strong station leadership and core chemistry.  Strong core leadership ensures that the role players fall in step and comply with the program.  Without strong leadership in the station the new faces – recruits – can easily slide into bad and potentially lethal habits. You don’t have to have a title to be a leader, you can lead up, down or sideways.  Show your fellow firefighters how to be a positive influence from anywhere in the department even if the positional leaders are unwilling or incapable of supporting your efforts.

Training – This is MY Ladder

This is my Ladder. Written by Brian Brush and found on Fire Service Warrior. I can’t quite do this post justice in a short synopsis…read the post and I guarantee you will learn something new. Unless of course you have already read it, or you are Brian Brush who wrote it.

Speaking of ladders, have you checked out the Ladder Pride available through Firehouse Pride?

Unfortunately, I was unable to make it to Hero Rush (web site/Facebook) this past weekend. I had every intention of participating alongside of my wife, but there were too many obstacles in our own lives that we couldn’t make it. She is nursing a sprained ankle above all the other things going on, so she couldn’t have done it even if we made it there. It appears as though Hero Rush was a huge success. I haven’t heard from anyone who completed it, but I am sure there were many there who had a blast. For those of you who didn’t make it, check out the video below.

Finally, I will leave you with a pretty decent prank…

Watch Close, Raccoon jumps out of chimney while house is on fire

Or was it just a squirrel…ha.

Just watch the video…you can’t make this stuff up!

According to the video, this was a controlled burn and the raccoon got away safe.

The last thing we need is to have to check chimneys for animals as part of 1403 compliance!

Best of the Rest – Hero Rush, FDIC, Quick Drills, and More!

I am gearing up for FDIC as many of my friends are as well. This year, Willie and I will be traveling with Mike Elston (Salem FD), and Andrew Catron (Kingsport FD). We look forward to many of the events. I will be posting our itinerary soon to let you all know where we will be.

My wife and I are planning on doing the Hero Rush in Maryland on April 28th. We just need to solidify someone to watch our children. We have a wedding to attend that evening in Norther Virginia as well.

Hopefully, Willie and I will have the patches and challenge coins by FDIC. The patches should be here later this week. We will let you know how to get yours soon! The patches were made by NM Coin LLC.

The pic on the right is our new patch!

This weeks “Best of the Rest” is a little short. Today, I decided to ride my bike (as in bicycle) to the gym and back. Did I mention it was “leg” day at the gym which is about an 8 mile ride one way. It was fun though!

3 Hilarious Fire & EMS Videos You Have to Watch!

I had seen these a while back. I posted one a while back. We watched them again when the guys brought them up at the firehouse. We laughed like hell.

I knew right then that I couldn’t go on through the day without making sure everyone saw them.

Even though there might be a little terminology that is different area to area, the sentiment hits home…we have all had these kind of days. We have all taken part or listened to these types of bitch sessions…

Go ahead and laugh… WARNING: Language

Here is a bonus video. This one starts out kinda slow but gets pretty good!

Last January I posted what ended up being my most visited article on FireCritic.com. It is good to see that everyone is looking at the serious stuff! Actually, the majority of that is from search engines. You can check out the first post here – The Best of Motivational…or Demotivational Firefighting Posters. I did not repost any from the first post in this one (not intentionally anyways).

Consider this part 2. If you have more to add, send them to me and I will do a part 3 later.

These are motivational and/or demotivational posters about our profession(s) of Fire & EMS. Some of them are funny, some are sexy, some are serious.

There is also a facebook page that just cropped up “Keep Fire in Your Life” that displays motivational firefighting posters.

Some are apparently from VeryDemotivational.com and DemotivationalPics.com.

As always be sure to “like” Fire Critic on Facebook!

Addison Fire Protection District – Can this be real? FailBlog.com has this photo of the message board at Addison Fire Protection District Station #3. The message “Better to arrive late than never”..WTF? Who approved this? Maybe the Chief’s message was directed to firefighters and should have read “Better to arrive safe than never”…or maybe it is meant as a message to the citizens and should have been “Call 911 and we will get there whenever we can”.

As dozens of onlookers packed Westport Road Thursday evening, all they could do is watch as Westport Presbyterian Church burned.

2011 Year in Review – The Best of The Fire Critic for 2011

2011 was a great year here at FireCritic.com. Most of it was experienced along side Willie Wines Jr. We truly have a great time traveling and hanging out once we get to wherever we ended up. We made it to Atlanta, Indianapolis, New Jersey, New York City, Baltimore, Cincinnati, and plenty other places. Let me be clear here, when we travel we are all business when there is a job to be done. Once we are cut loose, we make the most of it. Much of our experiences are heightened by the people we meet, hang out with, enjoy a drink with, or even shed a tear with.

I am blessed. I never thought for a minute that FireCritic.com would rise to the status it has. I never estimated the network, reach, and friends I would make along the way. I also have never, and will never take a second of it for granted. I have made the greatest attempt to answer every email, twitter message, Facebook message, text, and phone call. Some of you have even received an email from me months after correspondence. This is because I lost it in the shuffle but didn’t want to forget about it after seeing it again.

2012 is proving to offer some great opportunities as well. Be sure to check out the Holiday Message from The Real Fire Critic here!

To all of you (both of you) readers, friends, fans, and fellow firefighters I hope to provide more fun, humor, news, information, links, and everything else that The Fire Critic embodies. Keep sending in your links, information, stories, and pictures!

Holiday Message From The Real Fire Critic. My True Identity Revealed

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to all. Below is a special message to the readers of The Fire Critic.

Be sure to check us out on Facebook and click “like”

This year has been a very positive one for The Fire Critic and I have enjoyed a lot of travel, networking, and meeting firefighters across the Nation and beyond. My travels have been experienced along side my friend Willie Wines Jr. of IronFiremen.com (America’s Fire Captain). We have met so many new and interesting firefighters. We are truly blessed to travel so much and enjoy new experiences. Willie especially liked that restaurant we went to in Atlanta.

I wish each of my readers a wonderful holidays. Both of you have propelled FireCritic.com to new heights in 2011.

Preston Fleitz is The Real Fire Critic

However, I am here for a different reason.

I am about to drop a bomb on the fire service. You have heard a lot of back and forth and most of it has been coming from Dave Statter. I have attempted to put a spin on everything he comes up with in order to keep my identity a secret.

As you watch the video below, you will learn the true identity of The Fire Critic.

The Fire Critic does exist…It isn’t Captain Willie Wines Jr. It isn’t Dave Statter…It isn’t both of them together… And no, Dave is not my father… It isn’t even Rhett Fleitz.

Give Dave a couple of days to formulate a spin on this. I just can’t think of how he will attack me or put a spin on this anymore. Does Dave really have the capacity to argue with a 9 year old?

You have to admit…I do pretty good for being only 9! Whatever you do, don’t tell my father Rhett Fleitz that I have been running the Best Fire Blog online.

This video is in response to Dave Statter’s Thanksgiving Message here

The Real Dave Statter Exposed. Including Photos he had Faked to Show Himself as a Firefighter

Since Dave has come out and admitted that I am his child, I figured that I should share some things about him that you might not already know. I wish I had more, but I moved out as soon as I could…I was 2 years old. Some of these items Dave has been trying to hide for years. Since he has turned over a new leaf and wants to disclose everything I figured I would do my part in helping him out.

This post is in response to Dave’s post here. While I do enjoy the humor in it, I find it disgusting that Dave thinks he is even half the man my father is.

Just to keep you up to date…

Dave did an amateurish expose on how I don’t exist, then did a second part about how Willie and Dave were the ones behind FireCritic.com. Then, Dave came out and stated he was my father.

This is just one of the photos I found on Dave's laptop that he had professionally faked to show the world he is a firefighter.

So which is it Dave? I still believe in my theory that you want to be me. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I WAS amazed to find several photos on Dave’s laptop that he had professionally altered to show that he is/was a firefighter. Apparently, Dave was ready to use these fake photos to show everyone that I was wrong. Before he dupes you guys anymore, I feel the need to break the story on these phony photos and save the fire service further embarrassment by Dave Statter.

Check out the Fire Critic Facebook Fan Page for more fake photos of Dave Statter claiming to be a firefighter

Please feel free to add anything you would like to the list in the comments. If we get some real good ones, I will add them to the list!

Let’s Set the Record Straight…I am a Firefighter. Dave Statter Wishes he was Me!

Several months ago, Dave Statter did some amatuerish fake reporting stating that I did not exist. I admit, Dave got me good…which wasn’t hard since he has been stalking me for years now. The only reason why I am not in the video is because he called to say he was coming into town…so I got the hell out of town.

Some might say that I got him better with my post here. By some, I mean even Dave according to close friends.

I though the videos that Dave did were humorous. However, so many of Dave’s readers and even some of mine actually bought it and thought that I really DON”T exist.

Unfortunately, I have to set the record straight. It still amuses me that so many fell for it, yet professionally it has people wondering what the hell the truth is.

The truth is that I do exist. I am a Lieutenant (engineer with acting ability when my Captain is off). I have been with my department for almost 13 years. The department I work for is an Urban department in Virginia (population 10ok). Previously, I was a volunteer and also worked for a much larger EMS department (both also in Virginia). I have mentioned the departments in the past and it is very easy to figure out what department I work for (watch the video below).

What is also very amusing is that all of these firefighters believe Dave Statter. Dave was never a firefighter. He claims he was, but I assure you he was not. He might have been a member of a department for a couple of hours, but then decided just to report on it. Dave is a reporter…hell, that isn’t even true anymore. They fired him. It is unfortunate, and Dave doesn’t like to talk about it.

The reason why Dave feels the need to discredit me is because I am everything he is not…I am young and I am a firefighter. I am much more than that, but I don’t need to go on.

  • I would never mention how his wife has a huge crush on me.
  • How I have been blogging a lot longer than Dave.
  • I wouldn’t even think about mentioning at how I discovered Dave when he started blogging and helped him along getting him his first readers.
  • It would be callous of me to even think of bringing up the fact that when Dave visited the station where I work the firefighters caught him smelling my gear.

And that is only the beginning…what about all of the phone calls Willie and I get from Dave when we are travelling. Dave constantly bothers us wondering what we are doing and when we will let him tag along in the future (which will never happen).

Not that I am looking for any validation, but I have been a trooper through this whole thing. It is kinda weird having a stalker. Especially when it is a grown man. Seriously, Dave won’t leave me alone. I have to watch my back.

On a recent trip up to Maryland, Dave invited Willie and I over. We didn’t realize that Dave was going to be there…awkward. Dave spent 3 hours questioning Willie on what it was like to travel with me, what my favorite color was, and about the fires I have been in.

So there you have it. I do exist, I run numerous web sites, have been blogging for around 7 years, a career firefighter for 13, volunteer before that, and I like long walks on the beach…just as long as Dave isn’t stalking me.

Below are the videos that Dave posted about me not existing. I admit that they are pretty good for a hack.

Willie’s Uvula Almost Sends Him to the Hospital

You should be sitting down for this one…

There we were at the NFFF Memorial Weekend. It is Sunday morning and I am dead asleep. I am awoke by Willie telling me he has to go to the hospital. I immediately think that this is going to be a great story! Willie going to the hospital. I didn’t move. I was comfortable, and half asleep.

I asked him if he had a stroke. He says no, that it is his throat. I asked if it was sore and he said, no something is in it. I told him to cough it up. Willie says “I did”. So I said, “good, lets go back to bed”…but then Willie chimes in that it is sitting on his tongue. Ok, spit it out. He is a grown man after all. I was not going to grab a hold of some epic lugee that is caught in his throat and pull it out.

Willie then said “I can’t spit it out, it is attached to me”. Huh? Ok, now he has my interest, so I get out of bed and take a look. I don’t see anything but his dangly thingy at the back of his throat. Apparently it is swollen. Willie can hardly talk and I was kind of enjoying it. I am pretty sure I laughed…a lot!

Willie's uvula and piercings

What I realized next was something I didn’t know…Willie not only has his tongue pierced, but his uvula too!

My next move was the google machine. I googled “the hanging thing in the back of your throat”. Apparently it is called a uvula. It sounds like part of the female anatomy…which wouldn’t be out of place on Willie who right then was acting like a little girl!

This is what I found… If you’ve woken up this morning with a swollen uvula then the best thing to do is eat lots of ice cream and just calm down. This is a common condition which usually resolves quickly without any medical attention so try not to worry. Directly from http://swollenuvula.blogspot.com/. Who would have thunk it?

So instead of going to the hospital or calling an ambulance, I went to the grocery store and got the little tike some ice cream.

Willie couldn’t talk most of the day as his swollen uvula sat right there on his tongue most of the day.

On the trip home, Willie started telling me more about his “emergency” that morning. When he got up and into the bathroom, he swallowed his swollen uvula part way and ended up puking. When it came back up, he took his finger and tried to push it back down…you guessed it, making him puke again!

Never a dull moment with that guy!

IronFiremen.com’s Captain Willie Wines Jr. Makes it Big in Hollywood

I am not sure if you have seen it yet, but our very own beloved “Cowboy Captain”, Willie Wines Jr., has made it big in Hollywood! That’s right! Captain Wines was in the latest Dish Network commercial seen below. Ok, to be honest it is was filmed in Tijuana…but that doesn’t matter. The other thing is that even though they had makeup and costume crews on set, Captain Wines didn’t need it. He came to the set all ready to go! He even gets his own line in the commercial! Apparently the technology and web tutoring I have been giving him is paying off! They even used his own cowboy hat…apparently the one they got for him was only a 55 gallon hat, Willies clearly holds more than that!

Just one question…What in the hell does HOE DILLY mean?

See guys, you have to realize that the entertainment industry has not been all that forgiving to Captain Wines. He got beat out on a movie role and a huge venture with Warner Brothers. First, Willie was beat out by some cartoon for the role of Yosemite Sam, and then just when Willie thought things couldn’t get any worse he got beat out by a damn mouse in Fievel Goes West. The original role was that of a RAT, and Willie was told by the Steven Spielburg that he had a lock on the part. Unfortunately, they changed the role and some cartoon mouse got the part.

Capnography or Cat Pornography? Fail at the Conrad Murray Murder Trial of Michael Jackson

Check out this image that captures a closed caption fail during the Conrad Murray murder trial of Michael Jackson. When a Paramedic was on the stand being questioned, the discussion turned to capnography which is the monitoring of the concentration or partial pressure of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the respiratory gases – wikipedia…I assure you it has nothing to do with “cat pornography”. Hilarious!

Ride Out Comic – Fire & Rescue Comic Strip – Monday Morning Shoutout

Hey, look everyone…a brand new Monday Morning Shoutout! It has been a while, huh?

This weeks Monday Morning Shoutout goes to Ride Out Comic. Ride Out Comic was created by Fire Medic Art.

Ride Out Comic is fairly new. So far, so good I think. It should be interesting to see if one of the Fire Magazines picks up the comic strip to run on their mag, or if one of the mainstream fire web sites picks them up.

Great job on the comic strip, keep up the great work.

Hell, if he is paying attention, maybe he’ll make a funny as hell comic about the lovefest between Dave Statter and Willie Wines Jr. Although I have to say that there is an interesting lovefest brewing between Mike Legeros and Dave Statter so Willie better watch out…

Read more about the crew at Noonie Creek Fire Rescue here. This crew is the usual cast of Ride Out Comics.

Ride Out Comic online - FacebookTwitter

The cast of Ride Out Medic: Geno the driver, Jonny the probie, and Case the Lieutenant. I don't know about you but I think Noonie Creek needs some badge bunnies!

About Ride Out Comic:

Ride Out is a deeper look into the life of firefighters. Whether around the fire station or at home with the family 24/7 they’re always firefighters.

Many of the situations you will see weekly will attempt to depict the humorous side of firefighter life that many people do not get to see. I offer no guarantees that everyone out there will laugh hysterically at all of the humorous situations for a few reasons: 1) you probably had to be there. 2) not everyone understands the rules and protocols a firefighter has to follow on a daily bases. Sometimes you might see a few editorial strips from the everyday happenings around us. Many times these strips wont have the original Ride Out characters  due to the storyline or message trying to be delivered.

On the flip side there will be a few situations that might tug at your heart strings. These situations will be meant to show the serious side of a firefighter and his dedication to not just a job but a way of life. A life lived everyday, 24/7.

So jump on-board, put on your seat belt, and enjoy the Ride Out.

About the artist:

Darrell is a Firefighter Paramedic in North Texas. When he is not fighting fires or tending to the sick, he has armed himself in just the last 3 years with a self-taught passion for drawing with graphite pencils. He combines his passion of art with his love of firefighting and sports to create art intended to

  • provoke thoughts of a period in time
  • an unforgettable moment
  • as an inspiration for the future.

All this is done with continuing to go against the norm and staying with traditional mediums that seem to be fading in this new generation of computers and technology. Many of his drawings take approx. 20 to 40 hours to draw with attention given to detail.

He is married to his best friend for over 23 years and as he always says “We are still newlyweds!” If that is not enough Darrell and his wife, own a family business. They manufacture Salsa, Sauces, and Hot Sauces. Darrell has 2 kids in college and one in high school. All 3 still hang around to assist in the family business that was founded in 2005 known as Big Dawg Salsa.

Firehouse Prank involving Gun? NOT A GOOD IDEA

Update: The video was taken down a couple hours after I posted it. It is back online now and I have put up the new video below. Yet another reason why you shouldn’t put stuff on the internet…other people can steal it! I am not sure how long this one will last!

Update continued: The department involved is the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department. The station is listed as station 108 under the City of Macon Fire Department’s web site. Not surprisingly, the video is not part of their video sections. The station sits at: Fire Station # 108, 7100 Peake Road North Macon, Georgia 31220

It has also hit the local news now:

13WMAZ.com:

The Macon Bibb Fire Department is investigating a video that shows an apparent hoax shooting at one of its stations.

That’s according to Clay Murphey, the mayor’s spokesman.

He says the video was posted to YouTube and shows a prank that was reportedly staged on firefighters Sunday at Fire Station 108. That’s on Peake Road.

I cannot believe this video is still online. I am sure it will be gone soon so watch it now if you want to see what a bad idea this is. I imagine we will be reading about former firefighters very soon.

Nothing about this is a good idea. NOTHING.

Do not do this at your firehouse.

I am not sure why firefighters allow others to bring them in on elaborate plans like this without questioning the prank in the first place. There are so many great pranks out there and there is no need to go to this extreme.

I can only imagine the liability the fire department will be under once this rookie realizes what he just went through.

Video: Hilarious…”Where is the little girl?”

It doesn’t really matter, it is funny as hell.

FRI Wrapup – A Great Time in Atlanta

This is from my continued coverage of Fire Rescue International last week. You can read more posts related to FRI 2011 here.

By now you should have figured out that I had a blast at Fire Rescue International 2011. Willie Wines Jr. and Jeff Harkey enjoyed the trip with me this year and we accomplished a lot. We got to hang out with a ton of people, some new friends, and some we have known for a while. We had a lot of laughs, had some time to reflect, and were able to continue telling people about Daily911Deals.com.

FRI was a success. Each conference we travel to has been a better and better time than the last. Each one offering its own new adventure. This time was no different.

Willie and I started out the trip with a visit to my sister, Valicia’s, house in Atlanta. I hadn’t seen her in almost a year. It was only the second time since I had seen my nephew Sebastian. What a cute little guy! Willie and I took my sister, her husband Carlos, and Sebastian out to the Front Page News restaurant.

After spending the evening with them we settled in early because we would be up early for the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in the morning.

Our team at FRI. Cheryl Horvath, Martha Ellis, Rhett Fleitz, Mark Nugent, Chris Riley, Willie Wines Jr., and Matt Tobia. Sorry for any spelling mistakes.

Wednesday morning began early. We go to the Westin Peachtree Plaza early for the stair climb. We saw some familiar faces from the NFFF at the climb including Victor Stagnaro, Cathy Hedricks, and Billy Hinton. We ended up climbing with Matt Tobia and other Chiefs from across the Nation. Willie and I were surprised by the number of firefighters climbing in gear. We were impressed with the turnout, but figured that the majority would be travelling and not bring their gear. We were wrong. There were many local firefighters climbing and it was great to see so many in gear.

You can read my account of the climb here and Willie’s account here.

Dinner with the crew from MN8 Products and Fire Rescue TV

Willie and I are doing our 3rd climb this weekend in Greenbelt, MD. The climb will be in the 28 story Maryland Trade Center. I will be climbing with Willie Wines Jr., Willie Wines Sr., Thomas Warshaw, and Bill Carey. We look forward to the event on September 11, 2011. This will be a fitting tribute for the 10th anniversary.

On Wednesday, we also went out and enjoyed dinner with the A-shift crew at station #63 in John’s Creek. Great dinner, great comradarie, great times. Thanks to the entire crew: Captain Akins, Lt. Eddie Lee, FAO Phil Pirkle, FAO Kevin Castleberry, Sgt Tom Johnson, FF Jost Cater, FF Brandon Kingrey, and FF Grant Eckard.

On Thursday, Willie and I headed over to Atlanta Firehouse #11 to check out Motorola’s $1 million donation to the NFFF and for Atlanta FD’s announcement of 100% participation in the Seat Belt Pledge.

Friday and Saturday kinda all ran together. We did enjoy a great meal at a Mexican joint courtesy of Zach Green from MN8 Products. We were there with his crew and the crew from Fire Rescue TV including Martin Grube and Mariah Leavitt.

During the expo, Jeff and I made our rounds and spoke with numerous businesses who are excieted about Daily911Deals. Look for some of those deals coming up. I also met up with two women I know via the internet. My face is not as recognizable as Willie’s, but some people have hear my name before…ok, actually more people know me as the Fire Critic, but it doesn’t hurt having an uncommon name. I was speaking with these two women for about 10 minutes before I handed them my card and they instantly realized who I was.

Willie, Jeff, and I also helped stow away the better angels exhibit. Read about that here.

Willie getting frisky with Rhett

Saturday night was a memorable one. Willie wrote about it in a post titled “FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR RHETT FLEITZ AND JEFF HARKEY“. Let me just say that his account was not exactly 100% truthful. He was right on point with the account of Jeff Harkey though. Jeff led us down a path that Willie and I had not been in before. Where he started stretching the truth was about how Willie felt about being in that establishment. First of all, Willie signed up for drag night. He will be escorted by some great looking men. He will be right at home.

The “guys” wouldn’t stop buying him drinks and before Jeff and I knew it Willie was sucking face with 5 other guys. We told him we didn’t take any photos. We did, but you can’t see them yet. Willie still has to make several trips to Atlanta to go shopping with the only 3 females who were at the restaurant. When we left, Willie had them chanting BROKEBACK, BROKEBACK, BROKEBACK. They still think he was in the movie. Everyone kept asking us if we knew of any other “alternative lifestyle men” other than Willie. We told him he was the only one we knew and that he had won a night out with us two handsome and happily married straight men. Willie couldn’t get enough of it!

On Sunday, we headed home. Although we still had plenty to do. We had two stops before getting home. We stopped by Charlotte FD Station #1 and met up with Captain Blake Redden and 911 Dispatcher Jeff Williams. Jeff sat us down and showed us the dispatch center which is located inside Station #1. This station was huge. The dispatch center seemed to be top of the line. Jeff had some great stories for us about the recent earthquake, how they do business, and some war stories about some of the busier times inside the center. Blake showed us around the station and answered all of our questions. Thanks for the tour guys!

I still can’t get over the fact that you guys don’t use crosslays!

L-R Charlotte Fire Captain Blake Redden, Ironfiremen.com's Captain Wines, Charlotte Dispatch Supervisor Jeff Williams and The Fire Critic Rhett Fleitz

After Charlotte, we stopped by Davidson County Fire Station #1 and got to chat with several of the firefighters there. We got a tour of the station and their apparatus. The fire station is combination volunteer/paid part-time. Ryan Monteith, Julia, and Bill Shick showed us around. Willie and I always have a great time visiting other stations.

Dave Statter or Rhett Fleitz…You be the Judge

Maybe you have been reading that rag of a news blog called Statter911.com. Dave claims that not only am I not a firefighter, but that I don’t exist. I admit, it is quite humorous. Moreso, it is flattering that he will spend so much time increasing traffic on his site by running my name as much as possible. He has put together two very well edited yet fairly corny videos he taped when he passed through Roanoke on the way to FRI. You can see the videos here.

You just have to love the comments showing up on STATter911.com as well. Typical OBJ style Dave. Writing your own comments again are we?

Obviously, I cannot stand by idly and let him get away with this. I don’t get mad, I get even.

So here it is, a simple comparison of our parallel lives. You be the judge of who has it better, Dave or me. I think there is a clear winner here. No wonder why Dave is so hung up on me.

With Women

Dave wouldn't know a hot women if she was standing right next to him. Rhett can't keep women off of him. He embraces arm candy and usually has to give out a fake phone number just to keep them from calling him all the time.

Honor

Dave asks what it was like for real firefighters after they have climbed in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Rhett participates in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb’s and has Dave “the waterboy” Statter bring him water when he needs it.

Eating

Dave wears a bib. Rhett wears a bib as well, but eats crab three at a time...shell and all!

Firefighting

Dave finally has proof that he has been in a fire engine. He is pictured here riding in the back seat as a fanboy of Willie’s. It reminds me of when parents bring their children by to sit in the fire trucks. Rhett drives a fire engine every day he goes to work.

Dress

Dave dresses as Jerry Engle on his days off. Rhett can pull off the Hawaiian shirt better than Mike Legeros.

Travel

Dave hangs out with Bill "FireGeezer" Schumm and Mike "FossilMedic" Ward in his spare time. However, they bring along the troll to make Dave feel at home like the trolls on his site. Rhett hangs out at the Jersey Shore house with J-Woww.

With Willie Wines Jr.

Dave pays Willie to hang out with him. Rhett fights fire with Willie.

Friends

Dave hangs out with trolls. Rhett hangs out with sharks. Neither of us have any real friends and are hated about equally wherever we go.

Mrs. Fire Critic

Rhett's beautiful wife can typically be found reading FireCritic.com and hanging out with Rhett.

Mrs. STATter911

Dave's beautiful wife can also be found reading FireCritic.com and hanging out with Rhett!

Video: The Dave Statter School of Firefighting…

I have found the holy grail of firefighting videos!

Recently posted on youtube is this gem that captures the Dave Statter school of firefighting in all it’s glory.

…and now you know where Dave and all of the trolls who leave “I fight what you fear” comments on his site learned how to fight fire! I can hear the instructors in the background screaming “YOUR DOING IT WRONG”!

I’m just getting warmed up for Firehouse Expo in Baltimore… after this post, it should get pretty good!

You are welcome!

Fire Hose Rodeo…Don’t Try this at your Firehouse!

Check out this recent video of a German firefighter doing the fire hose rodeo. This video is similar to the Jackass Fire Hose Rodeo from a couple of years back.

I do not recommend trying this at your firehouse! The translation of the description on the video is: Fire Kränzle review of special signal, Carnival 2011
