Video: 17 FDNY Firefighters Injured in Fast Moving 4 Alarm Fire in the Bronx. 200 FF’s on Scene

Seventeen Firefighters were injured in a fast moving fire in the Bronx today. The fire swept through 4 buildings and went to 4 alarms bringing 200 firefighters to the scene. Two of the firefighters were injured when the ceiling collapsed on them.

The fire occurred at 726 Van Nest Ave. in the Bronx.

RAHWAY, N.J. (WPIX) —

A four-alarm fire ripped through an under-construction condominium complex early Wednesday morning in New Jersey.

The intense blaze began at about 1:30 a.m. at the four-story building located at St. Georges Avenue & Stone Street along Route 27 in Rahway. The fire appeared to have consumed the complex’s top floor and rooftop.

The building was vacant at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported.

Previous Coverage of this fire with aerial view of the fire once the fire went through the roof here.

The video below shows the fire shortly after the crews arrived on scene. The fire began in the basement. No cause has been determined yet. Obviously the fire was a stubborn one as the fire and as you can see from the video in the previous post completely destroyed the building. Five firefighters were injured fighting the blaze.

Video: Massive 4 Alarm Union City, NJ Fire Injures 4 Firefighters

A Union City fire devastated two adjoining residences, collapsing one building and displacing 23 people, according to today’s Jersey Journal.

The four-alarm blaze that started about 2:30 p.m. in the basement of 3807 Park Ave, North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue Co-Director Jeff Welz said.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze within four hours, but continued to battle flames that were fed by a ruptured gas line after 3809 Park collapsed around 6 p.m.

2 Alarm Fire in Glendale, California

At 0130 hrs. on November 27, 2010 Glendale, California Fire Dept. units arrived on scene reporting heavy smoke and fire showing from a two-story hillside single family dwelling in the 800 block of Brockmont Drive. The blaze quickly self-ventilated and a second alarm was soon requested. Flames could be seen from miles away as crews battled to extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported.

FDNY Firefighters Battle Fire in Brooklyn at Associated Supermarket. The massive three-alarm blaze broke out inside a building on Fifth Avenue near 17th Street about 12:15 a.m. today and quickly spread throughout the three story structure, tearing through the Associated Supermarket, in the ground floor and gutting 10 residential apartments above, said officials.

Video: Firefighters Battle AC Transit Bus Fire in Berkeley California. According to Sabina Imrie, assistant fire chief for special operations at the department, the first call reporting the blaze came at around 12:35 p.m. She said the back portion of the bus was on fire when firefighters from the department arrived.

Lonell Horton, Anthony Carter and several of their neighbors lost everything they own Wednesday when a quick-moving fire swept through a rowhouse in Rankin, sending billowing smoke so high into the air that it could be seen in several Mon Valley communities.

Granville Firefighters Battle Well Involved House Fire in Maidsville. Well involved, decent video. This is a perfect example of the need for use of 2 1/2″ hose instead of 1 3/4″. Although the report says they had early water supply issues so it might not have been a feasible option.

Two Big Fires in San Francisco

San Francisco firefighters found themselves battling two mutli-alarm fires today. One involving four apartment buildings in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood and another involving several warehouses in the Bayview District. The Bayview fire went to four alarms while the Haight-Ashbury fire went to three alarms.

Needless to say, SF firefighters were very busy.

Four-Alarm Brooklyn Fire Injures 14, Including 12 Firefighters

BAY RIDGE (WPIX) – A four-alarm fire erupted in Brooklyn late Wednesday night, injuring 12 firefighters and two residents.

At about 11:45pm, firefighters responded to blaze at 6805 Third Avenue in Bay Ridge. There was soon heavy fire on each of floor of the four-story mixed occupancy apartment building and conditions quickly escalated to four-alarms.

All occupants either self-evacuated or assisted out of the building via fire escapes, according to FDNY Deputy Chief James Leonard.

“I thought it was something small, that we were going to leave and we were going to come right back. I didn’t think it was this [serious],” said evacuated resident Rebecca Rivera.

4-Alarm Fire Rages At South San Francisco Food Factory

Firefighters continued to battle a four-alarm structure fire at the Columbus Food manufacturing plant in South San Francisco Thursday morning.

The fire was first was reported at a warehouse at 465 Cabot Road just after 2 a.m., the dispatcher said. Crews from the numerous mutual aid fire departments responded, including Foster City, Daly City, South San Francisco, San Mateo and Burlingame.
